The Trayvon Hoax (2019)

This is a book and documentary where Joel Gilbert (investigative journalist) goes over the well documented parts of the Trayvon Martin fraud - where he was a drug dealing thug that ambushed a latino guy, and was beating the shit out of him when he was shot in self defense and not some innocent tween shot for wearing a hoodie. But it adds in his own research where he details that Rachel Jeantel was not Trayvon's real girlfriend (Diamond Eugene), and the prosecutors were either incompetent or perpetrated the fraud out of malice. A fascinating watch.

The full title is "The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud that Divided America", and while Wikipedia writes off Joel as a conspiracy theorist, and that may or may not be true -- the facts are that in this case, he gets exclusive interviews with George Zimmerman, the girlfriend (Diamond Eugene), forensic handwriting analysis, and DNA -- and exposes every detail of the most consequential hoax in recent American judicial history. That hoax lead to spiraling race relations, the rise of Black Lives Matters, Ferguson riots, and the consequences when the Police stopped patrolling as hard, and got the Ferguson effect (the backlash in rising crime and violence, when the police are too hampered from doing policing).

The documentary (almost true crime drama) was interesting, and well worth the price to watch. It was a bit slow in the middle: but a lot of investigations and projects are. And it could have been tightened from 120 minutes to 90 minutes or so... but Gilbert shows how he examined 750-page cell phone records (3,000 photos and 1,500 contacts) and un-redacted court documents, then hunts through various high school yearbooks (and neighborhoods) to find out that plus-sized 18-year-old Rachel Jeantel, was a fraud: it was in fact a different girl (16-year-old named "Diamond" ) who was on the phone with Trayvon just before he was shot. Then he goes on to scour Diamond's vast social media archives, to reconstructs the true story of Trayvon Martin's troubled teenage life and tragic death.

This has to be one of the biggest cases of identity fraud in modern American judicial history -- and the "journalists" and prosecutors missed it. The girl who whose recorded conversation with attorney Benjamin Crump ignited the public, created Black Lives Matters, and provoked the nation's media to demand Zimmerman's arrest, was swapped with someone else.

Of course it won't change the opinions of the close-minded, and will be hate-labelled a conspiracy theory. Yet, all the information is presented and verifiable. And because of the information uncovered, George Zimmerman started a $100M defamation lawsuit against the Martin-Family for the bait and switch (and to exonerate his name in the public's eye's).[1] You can't understand what's really going on in the Zimmerman lawsuit unless you read this book or watch this documentary -- so if for no other reason than that, it's worth watching. But I suspect that George is about to be become wealthy for all the pain and suffering he was put through by the prosecutors and the media that were either corrupt, incompetent, or both.

A non-racist latino community-watch guy responds to being mounted, beaten and having his head bounced off the cement by shooting and killing 17 year old, 5'11", tattooed, gold-grilled, drugged up, MMA fight-club teen that ambushed him, because Zimmerman made the mortal offense of not liking a thug casing houses in his neighborhood in the rain.

The media and left spin it as Saint Trayvon (the honor student), showing him when he was 12, was killed for wearing a hoodie in a white neighborhood, while getting skittles for his sick brother. That's a lot better than showing the gangsta thug at his true age, and explaining he had drug ingredients and was stoned.
