Trans athletes
Trans athletes: Bigot! Political Cartoon by A.F. Branco |
I have nothing against trans folks. Their mental disorder gives them a harder life, and the last thing I want to do is to make someones life harder than it needs to be. But biological men competing in women’s sports, ruins women’s sports. At work we had a health day, and one of the tables had a grip meter. I squeezed and my Grip Strength went beyond pro athlete... for women, but avg for men. It was eye opening that an out of shape average male could easily crush what professional women’s athletes could do. Biology isn’t fair. And like it or not, what you wish you were doesn’t change your chromosomes. So while I love when women beat men in sports, I never forget how much harder they have to work to do it.
Examples of biological injustice
Trans athletes : 13 items
Andraya Yearwood - Andraya Yearwood (M2F trans runner), along with Terry Miller (M2F trans runner) is destroying biological women in indoor high school track, winning state and national championship titles. For some reason the Women getting crushed without the Y chromosome or testosterone, think it's unfair.
Caster Semenya - South African runner that won the gold medal in 2016 (800m), and multiple other championships. But when challenged (because of massive sudden improvements in her times), failed in that there were too many intersex traits giving her an unfair biological advantage. Of course bigots screamed that it was racism (because she was South African), in truth it was just about testosterone levels in some biological females (that have intersex traits).
CeCe Telfer - Transgender M2F, CeCe Telfer (previously Craig Telfer) competed on the Franklin Pierce University men’s track and field team in 2016 & 2017, and ranked 200th and 390th. Then went M2F and competed in 2019 as a Woman, and won the women’s 400-meter hurdles national title at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, dominating the competition, (57.53 with second place almost 2 seconds behind at 59.21).
Grip Strength - One of the simplest examples of biological unfairness is grip strength. Studies like the one below show that 90% of females produced less force than 95% of males. (In english, if you're the weaker than 19 out of 20 men, you're still stronger than 9 out of 10 women). It gets worse, female athletes and their maximum force is 444 N, that's still below the average for men (541 N), and is in fact below 3/4ths of all men (most being non-athletes), and all male athletes. Another study showed similar results that start in childhood (10-12 yo), and carry through to old age (68-88 yo). In sports where grip strength maters, trans women (M2F) are going to always have an unfair advantage that can never be compensated for.
Hannah Mouncey - A 6' 3", 250 pound Australian handball player named Hannah Mouncey, is destroying other women in that sport. Imagine how frustrating and demoralizing that is for the double-X's to go against some burly rugby player looking "girl" with the upper body strength of a male weightlifter?
JayCee Cooper - Trans athlete JayCee Cooper (M2F) is dominating Women's powerlifting before USA Powerlifting blocked trans athletes from competing in anything other than their birth gender. JC doesn't rank in Men's powerlifting.
June Eastwood - June (formerly Jonathan) Eastwood, joined the women’s cross-country team at the University of Montana and became the first transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA Division I women’s running team, and finished second in a field of 204 runners at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Ca -- winning the NCAA Conference's 'Female Athlete of the Week'. Eastwood’s best times while running on a male team are significantly faster than many long-standing NCAA records held by women, so she's likely to become a record breaker, whether on testosterone suppressants or not.
Mack Beggs - Mack Beggs (M2F trans) is crushing the Women's high school wrestling circuit, and advanced to College level.
Martina Navratilova - Martina Navratilova, one of the great champions of LGBTQ rights got completely slammed for admitting that males have physical advantages that could crush Women's sports. The LGBTQ Lynch-mob went after her for speaking truth.
Michelle Dumaresq - Michelle Dumaresq (M2F trans) also won the 2006 national title for woman mountain biker. The runner up (Danika Schroeter) wore a T-Shirt that read, “100% Pure Woman Champ" to the outrage of trans activists.
Rachel McKinnon - Champion transgender track cyclist Rachel McKinnon is crushing Women in that sport since she "transitioned" in 2012. She won world titles in 2018, 2019, and set the world record in 2018. She is biologically male and gets snotty that some Women aren't thrilled with being beaten by a man in Women's sports (and either criticize the victory or won't lock arms with her).
Renée Richards - Renée Richards was a trans Tennis plays (1970's), that didn't always win. Some trans activists claim, "see", her failure is proof that despite the M2F's advantages, they won't always win. Which is fine, but that does's change that they have an unfair advantage. An attempted rapist isn't suddenly a moral person just because they didn't succeed. The problem is that they have an unfair advantage compared to the other competitors, but they still have to work very hard and be very good.
Terry Miller - Terry Miller (M2F trans runner), along with Andraya Yearwood (M2F trans runner) is destroying biological women in indoor high school track, winning state and national championship titles. For some reason the Women getting crushed without the Y chromosome or testosterone, think it's unfair.
Conclusion
Why do you think you don't hear of any F2M trans athletes winning competitions in male sports? If you answer that honestly, it explains why M2F is unfair in Women's competitions. If you can't/won't answer that honestly, then you're not up for an adult discussion on the topic and can/should be ignored.
There are resentments against trans folks, in at least a few ways they have a shit life. I'm sorry for that, and can only treat them with dignity and respect in our 1:1 dealings. And I think those calling them "cheats" is a bit too far -- it is an unfair advantage, but the sincere ones didn't ask for that advantage. Is Shaq cheating at Basketball because he has mutated genes that made him a physical monster? But him playing in high school might not have been fair to the others either. (It's why we created size/weight limits in some sports like boxing/wrestling).
So while I think Tran people deserve to be able to compete in sports, at whatever gender they choose -- I'm not sure that extends to sports competitions. Or they at least deserve to have an asterisks next to their accomplishments, because they do have an unfair biological advantage. Yes, they worked hard too, and deserve the accomplishment -- but just like a woman dropping steroids all her life, and quitting them just long enough to qualify and win a championship, the same thing can apply to trans women. It's not fair, but who the fuck told you that life was going to be fair?
